27 year old Mattock has turned down a couple of other offers to accept the 2 year deal offered by The Millers.
Speaking to the Star, Mattock said; "There have been a couple of clubs interested, but I’m comfortable at Rotherham, It’s a good club and I’ve enjoyed my years that I’ve been here. I’m not looking to move anywhere else.”
Mattock went on to speak about the lure of working with Paul Warne; “He was massive, We’ve got such a good relationship. We speak on the phone and text each other regularly. But it’s not just that, I believe in what he wants to do."
“He’s very keen to implement what he wants in pre-season. He’s got his objectives and he wants the players to buy into what he wants to do. I’m definitely keen to do that. I think if we all stick to that, we’ll do really well. I’m excited for the new season and what’s to come. I think it will be a good year for us."
“No player wants to be in the dark too much in the summer, floating between clubs and what-not. I’m very pleased to be re-signing at Rotherham.” he added.
