We deserve better than Millmoor - Brearley
Giles told the 'Tiser "Whichever club we visit I always make a bee-line for the financial director or chief executive. Most of them are struggling for money but some have better setups than others.
"When we played at Notts County at Christmas, Dave Costin and I were given a pre-match tour of their stadium. It's got corporate boxes, two 300-capacity function rooms, self-contained car parks, an indoor five-a-side pitch with sports facilities, an impressive reception area with lovely offices as well as great changing rooms, boardroom and executive suites all with their own bars and kitchens.
"All this is enjoyed by Notts County for £18,000 per annum rent paid by the City Council because they want football in Nottingham. In this case, Notts County are the stadium company. They are at the head of the lease and they share with Nottingham Rugby Club. Notts make enough from banqueting revenue alone to cover the rent. The ground is in a good state of repair and annual expenditure on maintenance is only about half of what we incur at Millmoor.
