The Millers dominated the game although the 1-0 scoreline suggests otherwise, speaking to the press after the game, boss Steve Evans said; “I think that if we had come here and won five or six it would have been reflective of the performance."
"You have to give credit to the home goalkeeper, who stood up big and strong to make some wonderful saves, but our finishing should be a lot better. If we had been a bit more clinical, we would have sealed the points a lot earlier. Kieran should have had a hat-trick to be honest."
“It takes a big performance to come here and do that to this County side, against a team that dominated at Anfield for over 40 minutes, so we don’t kid ourselves to know what it took to produce that performance.”
Evans singled out Agard and Rob Milson for special praise; “I have said before that Kieran Agard will always keep going in for chances. He has that bravery about himself that he is prepared to miss because he is that keen to score a goal."
“I thought that we had some terrific performances out there, I have to use my words carefully here but I think if there is a better midfield performance in League One this season than what Rob Milsom put in today, I have yet to see it. He was composed, he was technically fantastic, some of his passing was a joy to watch, he will be a big player for us.”
