We need to be moving forward - Robins

Robins has been linked with the jobs at former club Norwich and newly promoted Burton Albion, which is not far from his home, but spoke to the Star with his thoughts on the new campaign.

"It will be nice to be on a level playing field next time after deductions in the past couple of seasons and we have got to be looking at being up there," said the Millers manager.

"We don't want anything to stagnate and we have to make sure all the plans we have come to fruition to give us a chance next season.

"Certainly we need to be better and certainly need to add one or two players to give us a little bit of a push, a bit of impetus.

"We were a nearly side at the end although we achieved nearly every objective. Yes, we would have been in the play-offs, that's all well and good, but that's been the difficult part saying we can do this, can do that, when, really, there's nothing to actually play for.

"It is important we keep moving forward on the field."
