Some members of RMBC cannot justify the need for a new ground while the club are only attracting 4000-ish fans on a regular basis.
Speaking to todays Rotherham Advertiser, Coleman warned the people of Rotherham; "This matter is in the hands of the people of Rotherham. Without their support we won't even get to the next stage. Thats why we are planning a fans day for the Wycombe game to help convice the doubters. This is serious and we desperately need a full grond that day!!"
"I know that the people are out there, our relegation decider against MK Dons a coulpe of years back we sold the ground out and had another 2500 requests for tickets." he added.
"The crowds are so low at the moment because Millmoor is run down, but with the right team and the right facilities then the crowds will increase and we do have the basis of support to justify a smart new home. Make no mistake the clubs future depends on it" he warned.
Meanwhile council cheif exec Mike Cuff confirmed that talks are ongoing and have been for a while; "As a local authority, we fully appreciate the imprtant role that the development of a community stadium, with the facilities that it could provide for people of all ages in Rotherham could play in the borough's regeneration and in generating local pride." he said.
"We are pleased to be working with the football club to explore ways of bringing such a project to fruition and early next year we will hopefully be in a better position to announce some of the ideas currently being examined." Cuff added.
