The Millers faint hopes of promotion were put to bed after the weekend draw at Aldershot, but Evans men have played some decent football sionce he arrived, taking four points from three matches.
“From what I know and what I’ve seen, Rotherham United should have been in the play-offs without a shadow of a doubt - and if I’d been here three weeks earlier we would have been,” said Evans.
“People may ridicule me for that and say ‘how do you know?’ but you’ve only to look at the way we’ve played in the three games I’ve been here.
“The objective next season will be promotion and we’ll all be working towards that goal.”
