The lively midfield man signed a two and a half year extension this afternoon to end speculation on his future, and Evans was delighted.
He told themillers.co.uk: “I am delighted that Ben has committed his future to Rotherham United. The situation with Ben came to a head when we received two good offers for him in the last week but my Chairman Tony Stewart has stayed true to his word and turned them down whilst at the same time appreciating the fact we could have lost a player in May for nothing.
“When I arrived at the club Ben wasn’t a regular in the side but I could see he was a talented individual with plenty to offer, and he quickly became one of the first names on my team sheet."
Prings himself added: “The Gaffer has spoken to me over the last few weeks saying there was interested clubs, but at the same time maintained he wanted me to sign an extended contract and be part of what this club is trying to achieve, not only this season but over the next few years."
