A decision was finally made by ref Chris Sarginson to postpone the match at a rain sodden Crown Ground at 7.40pm, with Millers fans either inside the stadium or outside the turnstiles.
And a disappointed Raynor gave his thoughts to the official site shortly before the team set off back home.
“It was clear that we were going to have a problem. There were a few puddles when we started the warm up I’ve spoken to the gaffer, made him aware of what was happening that there were lots of problem little areas on the field and in some places it wouldn’t roll at all so the referee had a difficult decision to make.
"We were desperate to play, the lads were fed and watered and ready to go.
“I’m standing here looking at the supporters and they will be absolutely devastated. They’ve turned up in large numbers again and it’s disappointing for the manager who wanted another game out of the way so he can get back,” he added.
Boss Steve Evans will now miss the game at York on Saturday and at home to Southend as the conclusion to his six match stadium ban.
