“I thought we were pretty good. We started really, really well and we pressed high up the pitch, We try and win the ball back and give ourselves chances to score and in the first 15 minutes we were virtually unplayable.
“We got two goals and were on top. I was right behind Bally’s so I knew as soon as he hit it, it was in. There were some really good performances and I get back on the bus to Yorkshire happy.”
Despite being available after serving a 3 match ban, top scorer Kieffer Moore returned to the squad but had to settle for a place on the bench, with Jerry Yates keeping his place in the starting 11.
“I don’t know if it surprised people that Kieffer did not start the game but Jerry more than deserved to keep his shirt and I like to reward excellence, I thought the guys played well on Saturday, so we set up exactly the same."
“There are no easy games in this league. If they had got a goal, the fans may have been quite loud and got behind the team. It’s good to quieten the crowd and we did that by getting the two goals and this set us up for a nice afternoon."
“It looked like our early season form today. We were exciting to watch at times. It was not the best conditions but we pressed high and we’ve got fit lads. That’s how we want to play and luckily for me, it came off."
