SIV had agreed to have the pitch relaid after the U2 concert a couple of week back caused nearly half of the pitch to be discoloured, which with the returf left the pitch looking simlar to a patchwork quilt.
Speaking to the 'Tiser, groundsman Jim Davision said; "We've fertiliser ready to go on and we've thrown loads of seed in it. We're scarifying the dead areas and with a bit more work the grass will shoot up.
"Just because there's grass in one section and not as much in another does not mean it is not level. It's a trick of the eye. It just appears as though there is a big lip. I can assure you it is absolutely level.
"The pitch played OK. One or two didn't bounce right but the heavy rain we had was a contributory factor, If truth be told, the pitch did its job. I know it's not nice on the eye but, as I said last week, we've a pitch that looks 80 per cent OK. We've just the 20 per cent to get back now." he added.
