Weeks extension for Millers plight

A members meeting at the Magna centre saw a majority vote in favour of handing over £60,000 to the club's accounts from shareholders in Rotherham United Supporters Trust (RUST).
Mark Thomas, acting chairman of the trust in the absence of Craig Saunderson, said: "Time is short but is a precious commodity in the club's current situation and it means there will be more time. I spoke with Trevor Smallwood and he made it clear that if RUST members agreed to the £60,000 being transferred into the club's funds, then the club would be in a position to trade until March 31.
"It means a little longer for discussions to continue with interested parties and that is important. It's a bit longer for a rescue plan to be put together. I believe there are people with a genuine and very real desire to save the club. We at RUST have been involved in discussions about our own plans but I cannot say anything further because of the need to preserve confidentiality."
The finances donated include money from Rotherham United Supporters Club (RUSC) and general donations.
