We're no longer driving around sites - Stewart

Last updated : 18 September 2009 By Bigrich.....
After mulling over sa number of possible sites for the new stadium for the Millers, Tony Stewart and co are down to just 2 sites again and are hoping for some news soon.

"Everything that can be done is being done and council leader and Roger Stone and their planning chief Karl Battersby have been instrumental in pushing the process forward. We are no longer driving around looking at sites. We are concentrating on these two before us and we hope to submit outline drawings of our plans before Christmas."

Only last month protracted talks over land at Canklow on the London and Scandinavian site fell through at a late stage after a change of mind when the landowner decided not to sell; "We've been frustrated but we will get there," Stewart said.

Meanwhile the club are in progress of doing the paperwork for the proposed new £2m training base at wingfield.
