“People mention ‘transitional’ but we had 11 players out of contract last year and have 11 more this season,” Scott told the Star.
“It means we were split into two groups and I was hoping that the players we had brought in would drag a lot of these 11 into a group that can cope, mentally and physically, with what we’re doing, But maybe some have not made that transition."
“Given the short time I had here last season when I saw things that were good, maybe I did not have the opportunity to see what was bad.
“Players have to come with us, and what we’re seeing now is, perhaps, no big surprise, just disappointing. Perhaps it’s why they have not been promoted in recent years.”
“We need players who are mentally strong enough and have got the ability and the game knowledge to put everything into practice,” he added.
