Having beaten Gillingham and Port Vale and kept three clean sheets out of their last four, the U's were brought back to earth with a bump as Rotherham cut them open time after time, racing into a four goal interval lead.
And the former Millers full back gave an honest assessment afterwards.
"We have played three top sides and I think Rotherham are the best of the lot. Not just tonight but in terms of everything they have got. I would think Steve (Evans) will be a little bit disappointed not to be a little bit higher up in the league with the players they have got because they have got Championship quality," he said to Oxford's official website.
“They punished us and if you look through their side they have some players who shouldn’t be anywhere near this league. They worked very hard too and played really well."
