Williams, a 23 year-old target man and former Eastleigh striker, has signed on loan until January as part of the deal that took Alfie the other way to Williams' parent club Reading.
But Scott says he's still active in the transfer market and may use the loan system again if nothing can be tied up by Wednesday's 11pm deadline, although he's still optimistic a deal may go through by then.
"This is certainly by no means the replacement for Alfie," said Scott to the clubs website. "We are looking to go out and bring in a player who has got experience and can compliment what we have in the squad and add the goals we need.
"I am hopeful of fetching in the right player before the closure of the window. It is a difficult time of year and everyone is after the same players; we need to make sure that financially it fits in with what we are doing, but equally we need to push forward and keep the momentum we have currently."
