The midfielder on loan from Brentford said: “Hopefully there will be more goals to come. I just need to get in and around the box and let fly like I did on Saturday.
"The gaffer encourages me to. We do a lot of shooting practice and I'm not bad in training and it paid off. I didn't realise it had gone in until I turned around and Lewis Grabban was already celebrating. It's a great feeling when you score. All the lads were around me and it gets everyone going.”
Boss Andy Scott has already indicated he would like to keep the player, who's loan expires in January, with Wood adding: “I want to play football, wherever it may be. At the moment I'm a Rotherham player until January and that's my main focus
“It's League Two football, it's going to be mucky,” he said. “You can't expect flowing football week-in, week-out and it's games like Saturday's that get you promoted. We were under the cosh a bit but you need to grind out the results and we did.”
