Woods delighted to be a Miller

The former Sunderland man, who has penned a two year deal, told the official site that the most important thing for him is to play regular first team football.

"I am delighted to be here at Rotherham United, it's been a long summer and finally i've got settled down and into training.

"I spoke to Alan knill at the start of the summer and he asked to be kept posted on my situation at Sunderland, and I decided to come here and find a new place."

Woods, who prefers the centre of midfield but has an eye for goal too, knows it will be tough to gain a place in the first 11 but is ready for the challenge that awaits.

"Alan sounds as if he likes to see the ball passed around and that's my game so it will be good to be a part of things. I know I will have to battle for my place and I am sure we can have a good season, with as many games as possible under my belt."
