After last weeks dismal defeat at Bristol Rovers, the fifth on the spin, Scott revealed to the Tiser that just a quiet chat was all that was needed on Monday morning and he wants his players to get back to enjoying their football, despite the pressure on their shoulders.
"The players came in on Monday and were expecting a hammering but we had a very quick chat and that was it. We changed things around a bit, not in terms of content but in terms of mood and the general feeling around the place.
"The lads are working their socks off in games and in training and sometimes it can seem like a bit of overkill. We've tried to make them realise that playing for Rotherham and doing a job that everyone else would love to do is something they should enjoy. It doesn't mean you can't work hard but it does mean you can play with a smile on your face and just do what you're good at without putting too much pressure on yourself. Whether that works we will find out tomorrow."
He added: "The players couldn't give us any more in terms of effort and the way we came back at Bristol before the sending off. We're strong as a group and it's important we stay like that."
