For the second time in days, Nottingham Forest put one over on Brentford at the City Ground. Both of their goals came from virtually indentical free kicks, taken and converted by Commons, who curled the ball round the wall to find the back of the net! The goals came in the 10th and 37th minutes. Nottingham Forest 1st, Brentford 20th.

The goal action came late at Huish between Yeovil Town and Bristol City. But the action kicked off just before the break when an off the ball incident saw Carey (for City) and Guyett (for Town) sent off. Davies fired Yeovil in to the lead in the 78th minute. Gray doubled the lead in the 90th minute, before Jevons converted a consolation of a penalty with seconds to go. Yeovil Town 2nd, Bristol City 4th.

Scunthorpe United separate Yeovil Town and Bristol City following their 1-1 draw against Huddersfield Town at the Galpharm Stadium. Sparrow gave the visitors the lead in the 55th minute, but that was cancelled out by Booth in the 86th minute. Huddersfield Town 9th, Scunthorpe United 3rd.

In their Friday evening match, Tranmere Rovers condemned Millwall to a 3-1 defeat at Prenton Park. Two quick goals from Taylor and McCready (19th and 22nd minutes respectively) gave the home side the lead. But just before the break Hackett pulled one back with 4 minutes to go before half time. Shuker made sure of the points with an 89th minute strike to put the result beyond doubt. Tranmere Rovers 5th, Millwall 22nd.

Also on Friday night, Swansea City condemned AFC Bournemouth to their 5th straight defeat under new manager Kevin Bond, which also means a run of 11 without a win in all competitions! Iriekpen got the ball rolling with a 4th minute strike, which was followed after the break with a brace from Fallon in the 58th and 60th minutes. A come back was threatened by the Cherries as Hollands (79th) and Pitman (85th) both scored to put the home side on edge. But it was Trundle who settled matters deep in to injury time. Swansea City 6th, AFC Bournemouth 21st.

Oldham Athletic continue their recent good form. This time inflicting a 6th home defeat on Cheltenham Town! Warne fired the visitors ahead in the 23rd minute, McDonald extended that lead 4 minutes before the break. Odejayi scored a consolation for the home side in the final few seconds of the match. Cheltenham Town 23rd, Oldham Athletic 7th.

Carlisle United were made to work for their point against Rotherham United at Brunton Park. Facey put the visitors ahead in the 21st minute, but then the home side piled on the pressure and saw Gray score the equaliser in the 64th minute. Carlisle United 8th, Rotherham United 19th.

How late did Gillingham leave it to claim their win over Chesterfield at Priestfield? The answer is VERY LATE! Hughes had given Chesterfield the lead in the 39th minute and must have thought that it was the winner. Mulligan and McDonald both scored deep in to injury time to set up an unlikely win for the Kent side. Gillingham 10th, Chesterfield 18th.

Bradford City will be kicking themselves having seen a share of the points slip from their grasp in their Valley Parade encounter with Brighton & Hove Albion! Revell fired Brighton in to a 13th minute lead. The lead was doubled from the penalty spot by Hammond in the 48th minute. Windass pulled one back, also from the penalty spot, in the 56th minute. The come back was completed by Schumacher in the 80th minute. But Bowditch had other ideas when he restored the visitors' lead in the 89th minute! Bradford City 15th, Brighton & Hove Albion 11th.

In the Staffordshire derby between Crewe Alexandra and Port Vale at Greaty Road it was the home side who pipped their neighbours to all three points. Maynard had given the Alex the lead in the 32nd minute, with Abbey levelling 4 minutes later. It remained level until a stupid challenge in injury time gifted the home side a penalty, which was converted by Rodgers. Vale did win the card count though by 4 yellows to 3! Crewe Alexandra 12th, Port Vale 13th.

In form Blackpool came down to Northampton Town's Sixfields Stadium, going away with a point following a 1-1 draw. Morrell had fired the visitors ahead in the 20th minute, but his strike was cancelled out when jess fired home in the 62nd minute. Northampton Town 16th, Blackpool 14th.

Finally, Doncaster Rovers failed to break open Leyton Orient at Belle Vue in a 0-0 draw. Doncaster Rovers 17th, Leyton Orient 24th.
