As a warm up to their FA Cup encounter in 2 weeks time, Bristol City went 1-up in the bragging rights against Gillingham at Ashton Gate. Flynn had put the visitors ahead in the 15th minute, but saw that cancelled out through a Keogh strike in the 29th minute. Swansea City maintained their claim to a play-off place, but left it VERY late to do so! Injury time strikes from Trundle and Butler secured the win away at Vale Park against Port Vale, who were probably feeling hard done by at the final whistle! Port Vale 14th, Swansea City 6th.
Oldham Athletic scored an equally important win, this time over Bradford City at Boundary Park. A Porter brace in the 79th and 82nd minutes were sufficient to see off the visitors. Oldham Athletic 7th, Bradford City 15th.
Before the start of play, Carlisle United were one of three teams without an away win. Now that count is down to two as they notched up their first away day victory at the expense of AFC Bournemouth at Dean Court. Crewe Alexandra must have had no idea that when they went in at half time at Griffin Park, against Brentford, 1-up through Varney (5th minute) that the second period would effectively see the end of Leroy Rosenoir as the Bees manager! Millwall entertained Doncaster Rovers at The New Den in a 2-2 draw. Forte fire the visitors ahead in the 16th minute, with Byfield levelling in the 40th. Price put the visitors ahead again in the 53rd minute, only to see Hackett level in the 59th. Millwall 20th, Doncaster Rovers 18th.
