At Dean Court, AFC Bournemouth suffered their third reverse of the season on home soil as Northampton Town walked off with the points. Guttridge was gifted an opening goal in the 5th minute, which was followed with a Gilligan strike in the 15th minute leaving the Cherries to rue a lacklustre performance and the chance to close the gap on leaders Rochdale. AFC Bournemouth 2nd, Northampton Town 16th.
Shrewsbury Town climbed in to the play off places as they walked off with a 1-0 win over Chesterfield at Saltergate. Hibbert scored the only goal of the game in the 38th minute. Chesterfield 9th, Shrewsbury Town 4th.
Bury left it late to salvage a point at Blundell Park against lowly Grimsby Town. Akpa-Akpro gave the Mariners a 60th minute lead only to see Lowe level from the penalty spot right at the death. Grimsby Town 23rd, Bury 8th.
Bradford City and Cheltenham Town had to settle for a share of the points at Valley Parade. O'Brien gave the Bantams a 35th minute lead, before Richards levelled from the penalty spot in the 54th minute as the Bantams finished with ten men. Bradford City 13th, Cheltenham Town 21st.
The League Two matches involving Rochdale (1st)/Rotherham United (3rd), Macclesfield (18th)/Morecambe (10th), Hereford United (20th)/Crewe Alexandra (12th) and Darlington (24th)/Port Vale (14th) were all victims of the weather.
In the FA Cup, Lincoln City were thumped 4-0 by managerless Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok Stadium. Swaibu gave the home side a 49th minute lead by putting the ball past his own keeper, which was followed by goals through Lee (51st min), Cahill (83rd min) and Davies in the 93rd minute.
Torquay United were knocked out of the Cup by League One strugglers Brighton & Hove Albion at Plainmoor. Crofts secured the Seagulls passage to the Fourth Round with a goal in the 77th minute.
Accrington Stanley's home match against Gillingham was postponed due to the weather, as was Notts County v Forest Green Rovers on Sunday afternoon.
