Adam Le Fondre netted just after the restart to cancel out Ryan Lowe's goal just before half time as the points were shared in a 1-1 draw.
Moore was pretty pleased with the teams showing, and said afterwards: "Bury are a good side. They've got some pace in their side and the wingers are very clever and after going one down it's a decent point for us.
"Gifting them the goal the way we did was disappointing but we showed enough spirit to come back and I think a draw was probably the right result. There was nothing in the game in the first half and it looked like it was going to end nil-nil then Exodus just took a chance, which is alright if you are going to be there for it but give Lowe credit for the way he's played and got the goal.
"We were hanging on a little bit at the end and I just wished we'd have kept the ball a little better."
Moore was without the injured Tom Pope and skipper Ryan Cresswell, and added: "We changed it a bit today. Popey got injured yesterday in training, he's done his calf, but he should be alright to train Monday and Tuesday and Ryan Taylor isn't really fit to be involved, we need to work on his fitness. Tom Elliott declared himself fit but he hadn't done enough in his fitness work.
"I thought we handled the wingers quite well today because they are clever. It was a good solid performance without being magnificent and we got a hard earned point.
"Ryan Cresswell's grandad died yesterday and he didn't feel he could play, our condolences go out to him and his family."
