Desperately Dissapointed - Knill

Speaking to Radio Sheffield after yesterdays game, Alan Knill said, "Desperately dissapointed. 3 goals and not great goals, 3 stright balls, they turned us round and got behind us. I'm dissapointed because for most of the week we've been saying this is what they do, and you need to expect it and we get done three times in the first half. The indecision between everybody. It was poor."

"The third goal makes it difficult, at 2-1 you think its game on here because we had a few chances and Jonno looked like he could get in. We needed to come out after half time and get an early goal, but we didnt and never really threatened."

Asked if he thought the windy conditions affected the team, Knill answered with "I dont think so, The second half they defended pretty well, but we were indecisive all along the back four and keeper, we never got to grips with them in midfield and thats the reason why we lost 3-1 today."

"We play really well and suddenly think we're a good team and we can just come against anybody and win. But that is not the case. But it's something thats happened all season and its pretty frustrating for me and even more so for the fans. We had fans walking here today as they did to Huddersfield and we dont put on a performance. You try and make that point to the players that we are fighting for our lives both on an off the pitch. We have a responsability to put that right."

Knill then commented on the contrast of the Millers home and away form, "We concede 4 at Huddersfield and 3 here, but last week at home against Bristol City we defended really well. But we just come away, take the foot off the gas and get punished, we can't afford to do that. We've got 6 games left, we just need to be much more resilliant away from home and not rely on our home form."

"It's a team thing and I'll look at the goals and the defence but then you have to look at why the ball has gone through so easily and no pressure on the ball, could we have held it up better? It's a collective thing including myself and the staff and the players. We all liked the plaudits last week when we beat Bristol, but this week the critism will be deserved, we didnt perform and its our job to perform. So we'll start again on Monday and look forward to the Tranmere game and hopefully a much better performance."

"Its a loss and we're in position where we cannot afford to lose. But at the same time we all know that the league is so tight and we've got 4 home games left. It's up to us and we'll sit back and see how the other teams do, but there's nothing you can do about it, its now about them, It's down to us and how we conduct ourselves, and today we were poor but we roll our sleeves up and get on with it."
