Evans bemused by draw

The Millers dominated proceedings against the Bantams, who put 10 men behind the ball, but were unable to make their pressure count with Haris Vuckic and Kari Arnason wasting the best chances.

The result stopped a run of six straight wins for Rotherham against their West Yorkshire rivals, but Evans was left scratching his head as to how it was not seven.

"Their goal led a charmed life for 75 minutes, we laid siege," he said. "Haris Vuckic should have scored, we should have had the two penalties, Kari Arnason should have scored from a great corner and Richie Smallwood should have done better from a corner when we cut it back to him.

"And yet our keeper hasn't had a save to make really apart from a bobble from 40 yards.

"I looked for a response from Tuesday and they gave me a response because if we play like that we will win matches.

"I think they have been terrific and I cannot pay them a bigger compliment than that. We have played better football, we have made better chances and created more things in the last third and some of the football has been the best for some time.

"We are Rotherham and Rotherham don't get penalties," he added.

"There was a clear push on Alex Revell and there was a clear penalty when Gary Jones handled. We don't get them, we just get them against us."
