Fantastic! says Robins

Goals from Ryan Taylor and Derek Holmes, returning from a six week injury lay off, did the job yesterday afternoon and Mark Robins was understandably delighted.

Speaking to www.themillers.co.uk, he explained: "I thought we were fantastic, it was a gritty, determined performance once again and we were back to what we are looking for. You can get lulled into a trap of launching the ball forward as they have big lads up there but we passed it.

"Once we had settled down after the first ten minutes or so we got on our front foot and then we controlled the game and could have won by more goals.

"I was thoroughly satisfied with that performance, in the first ten minutes or so we were sounding each other out, they are a big side and they can cause you problems as they tried to unsettle us.

"Once we had dealt with their set pieces and stepped on to it we came into a decent game. We hit the woodwork three times and it gives us the three points to move up into third position, it's a case now of can we stay there in the 29 cup finals we have left.

"If we can maintain the form we are showing at the moment then we won't be far away. Paul Hurst has been brilliant and he wasn't happy that he was left out as he wants to play football, he's not put off by creating records.

"Marc Joseph came on to a good game after he had been a little tentative at the start but he got stronger and stronger as the game went on - that what we need as we haven't a massive squad so the players have to be ready to go in.

"The lads who came in did a good job and in general we were excellent. The lads have belief and we looked big, strong, organised and resolute, I was really pleased now we have to maintain that standard. There's a long way to go.

"We have had a lot of games in a short space so we will welcome the little break before we go to Chesterfield, it will be a mixture of rest, recovery and hard work.

"That game now becomes the next biggest game of our season."
