Harford Happy With Defensive Showing

Harford singled the defensive pairing of Shaun Barker and the recalled Phil Gilchrist out for praise as his team came under the cosh at the National Hockey Stadium. Talking to BBC Radio Sheffield he said: "I thought the first half we played ok but it was a very poor game. I was delighted for Andy Monkhouse who got the goal but it was a scrappy one a bit like the game. I thought we were going to hang on and get the result, overall I’ll take the point but we should be coming to places like this and winning. First half we controlled the game and the second half was a very good team that defended that defended very well and I thought there were some immense performances especially Shaun Barker and Gilchrist.
Gilchrist: Impressive

The second half we never got the ball down and passed it round the pitch and we were camped in our half but if you don’t retain the ball like we didn’t today and you give possession away, then you’re always going to come under pressure.

The Millers boss was also happy with his goalkeeper after he responded to his midweek blunder with a good display. "Monty did well, he had a bit of a bad week but he has responded magnificently and I’m delighted for him, he’s a great kid and he wants to be a good goalkeeper and if he keeps showing the same attitude day in day out then he will be."
