It's been coming - Knill

Speaking to Radio Sheffield, Knill said "That's fantastic and its been coming, I'm a firm believer of if you keep doing the right things then your chances will come and go in. We've got good players here and when they got the chances tonight they've took them."

Knill spoke about young loanee Stephen Quinn and heaped plenty of praise on him, "I would'nt have taken him if I didnt think he could perform like that, and the more games he gets the better he gets. He's all energy all commitment and has quite a bit of ability about him."

"When we brought him I knew he would be a 'Rotherham United' type of player, he does'nt shirk a tackle ever no matter who its with. We're just grateful to Neil for letting us have him."

The Millers bossed the first half, but went in 0-0 at half time, leaving fans wondering if it was a case of deja-vu and we had not taken our chances again, "We've seen it before, but credit to the players, we said at half time to just keep doing the same things and we'll take one, it was a great ball and a great header for Butler. The good thing for us is that when we struggle we needed the second and Wilo pops up with a great goal for the second."

Martin Butler was brought back into the fold and made the scoresheet, "I spoke with Butt's this week and I felt that he was'nt mentally right but we spoke yesterday and he said he was right. I thought he was excellent, he held the ball up for us and scored that header."

The only downside to the night on the pitch was the two missed penaltys, "I can't say what was going through my mind, obviously your dissapointed and the performance warrented 4 or 5 but we'll take two and practise penaltys on Thursday."

Midfielder Michael Keane wanted to take the first penalty but Martin Butler took the ball off him, "We've seen Michael take a penalty against Port Vale and there was no way he was taking another one, he'll have to score in open play cos i still dont think he'll take another penalty, at least while I'm in charge."

Moving onto the fundraising for the club, which could be out of buisness in 5 weeks, knill said "It's our job, its other peoples job to look after the finances, and ours to entertain on the pitch and I think we've done a decent job tonight. If that encourages them to come back then great cos thats what we're paid to do."

A crunch game at relegation rivals Swindon Town comes on Saturday for the Millers, with Knill looking forward. "Windon are down there with us, but we are capable of beating anybody if we play at our best. I'm not frightened to play anybody in the league. Theres some good teams with quality, but we've got quality as well and if we can perform like this every week then I'll put this team against anybody."

"I think events have galvanised the team, you look at it and you think you could be out of work in four weeks, god forbid and you think well, damn it lets go for it and credit to the players, they've all pulled together and they been really positive about everything.
