The gaffer was over the moon with a hardworking performance and told www.themillers.co.uk he thought his side were in control.
"The most important thing for me and the team was the performance. After a poor one against Chesterfield we had to answer some criticism and in the first half I don't think you could see anything better in this division.
"It was fantastic with everything we want - pace, power and movement. In the second half we dug in and defended really well and looked solid.
"Even though we are now on nought points, it's still a burden having that ten points deficit to start with. When other teams lose no one notices, when we lose it amplifies everything. We always have a target in our minds each month and so far we are on course.
"Justin Cochrane came in and did very well, we changed our shape and caused them some problems with three in central midfield and Justin sat there to keep us nice and secure.
"We scored two great goals and had a bit of luck at the other end at times but don't forget Tranmere are second in the league. Even thought they had a lot of the ball in the second half I thought we were pretty comfortable."
