Ronnie on the three points and performance: “Unbelievable considering how we played against Gillingham, and then to come and perform here in a big stadium, with a big crowd, and we could have and should have won by more goals. We had the better chances than what they had, and in the end while its only 1-0 you’re a bit nervous. Pollitt’s produced a hell of a save from Connolly, and then ones hit the bar. So we’ve had that little bit of luck, but it would have been unfortunate for us if we didn’t take all three points.”

“When you consider the side that they (Leicester) are, we’ve limited them to very few chances, and we’ve had good chances today. Campbell-Ryce has got in loads of good balls into the box, and we haven’t got on the end of them, which has been disappointing to me.”

Ronnie on Butler: “Martin Butler may well have had an hat-trick today, he’s gone round the keeper and it got kicked off the line, he’s had a free header that he put over the bar, and then he’s looked like he was in an offside position but the keeper produced a hell of a save, so we’ve had decent chances. He (Butler) is a confidence guy, nothing phases Buts, we’re a better side with him in the team, there’s no doubt about that. It’ll come, as long as he keeps getting in there then sooner or later he’s going to find the back of the net”.

“I was pleased with both the wide men today, not only their attacking, but also with the defensive qualities that they gave us. I think with Campbell-Ryce on one side, and Monkhouse on the other, when they both play we are going to create chances. To come to a ground like this and create the chances we have is only pleasing!”

“What we have to do now is look to West Ham, its been a wonderful result for us today and we need to carry that on. We were 5-1 today which is an insult really, we’re capable on the day of getting a result anywhere and West Ham certainly won’t take us lightly, and it’s a game that we need to win if we’re going to get out of this mess that we’re in.”

Ronnie on the first away win: “Winning away at Championship level is very difficult, there’s no doubt about that, and I think that’s three boxing days that we’ve won away on the trot against tough opposition”.

Ronnie on Barker and McLaren: “He (McLaren) is a quality player. He did his pre-season but then missed three weeks with an injury, but he’s coming back to something like. He’s a great passer of the ball, people don’t realise what a good passer he really is. Shaun’s in there to give us a bit of strength and I thought both of them complimented each other very well today”.

Ronnie on Stockdale: “He pulled a calf muscle very early in the game, but Rob Scott has come in and he’s an able replacement, there’s no doubt about that. He’s quick and his long throw is an asset”.
