Lets smell the flowers - Johnny Breck
John then spoke about the penalty, which was hotly contested by the Rotherham team; "I really dont want to comment on it but the lads said it was outside of the box, near the line. But I really dont want to comment on that. It was a penalty because the referee gave it, it's disappointing but I don't want to harp on about decisions that the referee's made."
"It's not been an ideal week, we've tried to keep everything away from the players as much as we can, the players have been reading the papers and listening to the radio etc, I've kept them informed as much as I can about whats happening. They're professional footballers and they've come into this game and its up to them to perform for themselves. The players are self employed these players and they play within a team but your as good as your last kick."
"For the second half performance today I want to give the players credit,Andy Warrington who kept us in the game and kept it at one-nil. From then on we grew in confidence and were passing the ball a lot better, the goals were magnificent. The first goal, we work a lot on set plays but I've got to be honest with you it's actually a set play we've seen Chesterfield do, we put it on our wall to make the lads aware of it and it was Andy Liddle who come to me and told me about the free kick and it worked a treat. Le Fondre should have hit the ball but Danny stuck it in really well."
"The second goal was an unbelievable finish and thats what he's all about, the finish was superb. The third was a great strike from Ryan Taylor that hit the post and then we're on the front foot."
"We pride ourselves on fitness and I think the second half it showed and we put them on the back foot, especially when the goals are going in and we finished strong."
"I'm going to enjoy tonight, it's like new years eve. I've got a saying that a friend of mine used to say 'everytime you win it's New Years Eve', I've tried to tell the lads that, I'm going to enjoy a quiet drink and see what happens from there."
Breckin was asked if that was going to be his last game involved with the Millers, and it would be a good way to go out, but he wouldnt be drawn on any speculation.
"Yeah, but lets see what happens, I've no comment on that at the moment, I've got a lot of things to think about this weekend. I've got to pick my daughter up and enjoy the weekend. Let me just enjoy that first before I make any decisions. I've got a lot of thinking to do and the adrenalins going at the moment and I really don't want to comment on it at this present time."
Asked if Mark Robins was definately off to join Barnsley, John said; "I don't know, again I don't want to get dragged into that, lets enjoy the win and smell the flowers, we've just had a magnificent win against a good side, John Sheridan's got a good side, I just want to enjoy it, we don't smell the flowers enough, an old man told me once in football we don't enjoy the moments in football, so I just want to enjoy tonight."
