Adam Le Fondre's equaliser rescued a point for Moore's men and he spoke after the game to the media.
Moore commented: "Macclesfield came here and made it difficult for us.
"We kept the ball reasonably well but we didn't have the right tempo to hurt them. The only time we really upped the tempo is when we went a goal down. Then all of a sudden we realise we have nothing to lose and we start getting balls into the box.
"The disappointing thing for me is that we didn't start like that. One or two players struggled tonight and you could see that we were lacking pace in certain areas, and maybe we need to do something about that sooner rather than later.
"Pace can really hurt teams and we haven't really got enough of that in the side at the moment."
Moore added: "We need someone else, someone with a bit of pace and sharpish. I will have to have a chat with the Chairman and see what can be done with that.
"It maybe the case that we have to send a list around and get one or two players out, and get players in with pace and who are direct. We need someone to get the ball, get past people and get crosses into the box because we are certainly lacking that at the moment."
