Moore's men were soundly beaten in the quarter final stages but he insisted it was always going to be a hard evening.
After the game he told the press briefly: "It was always going to be tough.
"I was pleased with the way we got back into the game and at 1-1 Popey has had a great chance to get us in front. It is all about things going for you at the right time and we need to remember we are playing a quality side.
"At times we were found wanting with our defending but they will be working on it in training this week to get it right for Saturday.
"Johnny Mullins came off after 20 minutes and then Ryan Taylor came off with a whack on the knee; Fenners has also picked up a calf strain," he added.
"We are now short in the defensive areas. I am hopeful Taylor will be okay for Saturday but we will have big doubts over Mullins and Fenton."
