Kevin Lisbie's goal in the first half means the Millers are now winless in four matches in the league and slip to 10th place tonight.
Evans spoke to BBC Radio Sheffield after the game with his brief thoughts.
"It's a game of two halves to be fair. I think they dominated the first half, we looked as if we'd turned up for a tea party in London but second half they haven't got out of their half.
"But with the chances that came our way, we didn't make the goalkeeper work and we're never going to score a goal if you don't do that.
"We certainly had a go and they were hanging on at the end. Everyone knows we lack a goalscorer at the club but the players gave absolutely everything."
A downbeat Evans also touched on the lack of decisions received from the referee, pointing out that even throw ins on the half way line were going against his lads, nevermind the crucial decisions in and around the penalty box.
