The win left the Millers six points outside the play-off zone with 5 games to play and the gaffer was pleased with his side as they ran out deserved victors.
"We could comfortably have gone in four or five nil at half-time and I don't say that flippantly. We went in one-up and the game was still very open so fair credit to them in the second half because they've come out and had a go.
"We conceded a sloppy goal but we stuck at it and stayed in the game which is credit to the players. I'm pleased we've got all three points because over the 90 minutes, we've deserved it.
'We've created that many chances that I think people forget we sold Alfie and some of the passing and movement today was first class. Wimbledon came at us in the second half but we've managed to withstand it and nick it in the end."
Patto added to the waiting media: "We squashed the life out of them in the first half and our work ethic and spirit were first class. We won the ball high up the pitch and we were creating chances.
"The only thing at times is the end product. We wanted to work their 'keeper even more than we did but as far as I'm concerned, that's just a matter of time before it happens in the remaining games."
