Point pleases Scott after sloppy first half

Boss Scott saw his team battle back from a goal down on two occasions as the contest ended 2-2, and after making a couple of changes to his side he was happy with the final outcome as the Millers we're well below par.

"We got a point out of the game which is pleasing given the way we played in the first 45 minutes," Scott told Millers Player.

"We started sloppy and slow, which was disappointing because we warned the players that there was expectation on us, and we needed to respond which we didn't in the first 45 minutes. We got back into the game but then a sloppy piece of defending led to the penalty and we had to fight back again. We showed terrific character to respond and it shows that we have a lot of spirit in the camp but I would rather see it from the start.

"We have made it clear in the dressing room that the type of performance we displayed in the first half isn't going to be accepted. We need to maintain the standards that we set previously, but we are unbeaten after four games, we have 10 points and before the season started we would have taken that."

The gaffer continued: "I felt that Tongey was a little sloppy in the first half and I felt that we just needed a change, Grabbs was tired and we understand the reasons for that. I thought Marshy did well when he came on and Chris Holroyd worked ever so hard and linked up well with Alf."

Scott left both Jason Taylor and Ryan Cresswell out of his starting line-up and he revealed it was a combination of knocks and tiredness. "Both picked up knocks on Tuesday and we felt that they were very tired as well," he added.

"Both put a lot of effort in on Tuesday, especially Jaybo who has to cover a lot of ground because of the position he plays,  so I wanted to get some more legs into midfield but ironically  we were lacklustre in the first half."
