"But credit is due as we got back into it straight away and we could have killed the game off by half time as in spells we had done well. But you could always see that we were always likely to concede goals as they made it an open game with the way they set up as they were brave with their two wide men staying wide.
"It was a big learning experience for one or two of my players today especially Stephen Brogan who came up against a tough opponent and he came out second best. He will learn from it and it's a blip so we need to bounce back next week at Bradford.
"We started slowly in both halves, it was the way the game went, we were a little bit lacklustre, maybe after the Lord Mayor's show on Wednesday night but Rochdale also had a tough game at Accrington.
"It was disappointing to go two down and the third goal was from a really good set piece from their point of view with their lad just getting in front of Sharpsy. I always felt we could get back into the game and I changed things a little bit to get something different but it just didn't pay off today.
"We now look to next week, the winning run couldn't go on forever although we have missed an opportunity to gain the three points that would have taken us into second place.
"But we have 27 games left and there's a long way to go yet. I prefer not to concede goal but that's four at home although the fourth was when we were chasing the game, the manner of the defeat was disappointing as we didn't start.
"Football always has a kick in the teeth and we have to take it on the chin and bounce back next week. If we have aspirations to be successful we have to pick things up so we will try to start another good run at Bradford."
