The Millers gained thier first point in 6 games yesterday against Coventry, and Ronnie was dissapointed that it wasnt the Millers first league win of the season.
"I'm pleased with the point but im dissapointed that we have'nt won it, but its a point that takes us off three that we've been on a long time, it breaks that run of 5 games without a win."
The Millers started the game poorly but came into thier own, "The first 20 minutes we never got going, we showed them too much respect! but all of a sudden we started to play and got the belief that we are capable to play at this level, and the second half proved that. Richies had a couple of chances, one where he's turned in the box and missed the target, and a free header at the back post where hes not tested the keeper. We just cant buy a goal at the moment"
THe Radio Sheffield interviewer commented on the stick Richie Barkers been getting off the Millmoor faithfull, "He's a workaholic and he's worked his socks off again, but at this time we need somebody like Mark Robins, somebody who's going to poach a goal. I'm not having a go at Richie, Proc's there to get goals as is the Midfield, If Sedgy had anticipated in the box he'd have got in front of the lad for a tap in."
"Im not just having a go at the strikers, we're not getting goals from all areas."
"The belief is there and the last 2 games have been good, although we havent won them there were signs we like there, I thought today if we had a goalscorere we would have won the game."
Ronnie changed the formation back to a normal 4-4-2 after the midweek game at West Ham where he went 4-5-1, "I watched Coventry in midweek and thought why should we come here and play 4-5-1, If we would have had pace up front we would have won, but we still cant find a goal."
"We're away at Forest in the cup on Wednesday and the way both teams are playing it will be a nil-nil draw and go to penaltys, it could finish at midnight!"
"We're lacking a cutting edge, we've said that all season, apart from Preston we've not been that bad, but we're missing Butler but one player should make a team, but at this time he is!!."
When asked the usual question about bringing a striker in, Ronnie replied, "Yeah we'll be looking again, wether we get any luck is different though, We won't be able to do anything for Wednesday though as teams wont want players cup-tied. But I'd like to think that with a bit of luck and persuation with the boys in the premiership that they might decide to let somebody go, but at thie present time and with the wage structure in the premiership is a million miles away from our top earners."
The interviewer asked if the Chairman would make a gamble to try and bring a player in! (silly boy!), Ronnie replied with "I think it's difficult with their players on 10 grand a week and we have to pay five it's a ot of money for us, We're already in a lot of debt and the chairman being a cunning man that he is I dont think he's going to do that!"
"Maybe its time I have to lower my sights and look for something that's not quite as good as we want, If we need to spend more money on wages then I'll let a couple of my players out on loan, there's been enquiries for one or tow of them, maybe that's the way around it!"
