Two goals from Lewis Grabban was the highlight as the Millers eased past their opponents with all the goals in the first period, but Scott was far from happy with his sides second half display, felt sorry for new striker Alex Revell and was unhappy with his wide players.
He said to the media afterwards: "We got away with being sloppy with a 35 minute spell in the first half, we played well for the first eight minutes, didn't play for the next 10 minutes when they got back into the game, then the lads did what we asked them to do, but the second half we did the exact opposite.
"I felt sorry for Revs today because I thought he deserved a goal for his performance," added Scott. "He was fantastic today, that is two really good performances for us.
"Both our wide players contributed in the first half but then we started doing things differently which was frustrating. I wasn't asking anyone to do anything they can't do, infact I am asking them to do things that they are good at.
"If you are a wide player and you are being asked to get the ball and get at the full-back and get crosses in, then get on crosses from the other side, I don't think that is much of a problem. We showed when we do it, it works."
Midfielder Mark Bradley missed out through a hamstring injury and Scotty added: "We pulled him out of training yesterday but he should be okay for Tuesday."
