Lewis Grabban's late equaliser and penalty was enough to edge the Millers into round two as they came from behind at their non-league opponents, and the boss praised the teams battling efforts after the game.
"That is a fantastic result, having been 1-0 down", he told Radio Sheffield afterwards.
"They were trying all the tricks in the book, time wasting after 25 minutes, going down injured. We knew that.
"We were well aware of their players and we've let a poor goal in again, but the character of the whole squad was magnificent.
"We had to dig in, but you know when you come here that you're going to face a battle and you have to stand up and be counted and everyone we had involved today was outstanding."
