Caretaker boss Darren Patterson felt it was a match his team bossed and they sealed the win with Lewis Grabban's header just before the break.
"We bossed the game from start to finish", Patto told Radio Sheffield.
"I thought we started excellently. You couldn't ask for a better start and really, in the first 15 minutes, we should have been two or three up.
"We feel we should be scoring more from corners. The deliveries are first class, they're just begging to be attacked.
"We've done a lot of work on it and feel that's going to come, if we keep doing what we're doing."
