The Millers put on an impressive display against top of the table Forest and really did'nt deserve not to win the game, but a late goal cost the Millers 2 points. Here's what manager Alan Knill had to say in his post match interview.
"What a great game! After last weeks poor performance I thought we answered quite a few critisms and some of the critisms were quite right, you go to Peterborough and lose 3-0 then you expect it and deserve it."
"The game against Forest, nobody expects us to compete and if you look at it their budget is probably 5 times the amount ours is and they have a few million pounds on the bench, but I thought we gave them a proper game."
"To come back again from a poor weekend last weekend with a performance like that was excellent and full credit again to the players. We lose Williamson and Keane so we bring in Justin and Woodsy in and they perform pretty well so I'm dissapointed not to win it but delighted with the performance."
Knill then went on to praise Will Hoskins who scored yet another cracking goal to take his tally for the season to 12. "He's a top player, at the moment I'm not sure theres a better striker in the league, I look at thiers and theyre good players but Will's right up there with them. He does'nt usually score an easy goal does he? There all great goals, this one was a left foot volley and he's got the technique."
"Put him in front of the goal usually he hits the target, I thought his all round performance was good today, strength, pace and hes got great feet once hes got away from people and hes looking like the player like we all expected him to be."
"We asked for commitment today and we got all the things the things we ask for every week and didnt have last week! The biggest thing was can we be aggressive, Forest are a big stong aggresive team and powerful, can we match that, and then once we get it can we play? Can we pass it because we have good movement in midfield and Bopp once he goes forward is dangerous. Thats what we tried to work on to get Will coming in on that little hole, can he get turned, and then Ritchie and Woodsy just doing the job on the outside for us."
"All in all I'm dissapointed that its just one point but the performance was huge today coming off the back of a poor one last week. For us its another confidence booster I think, We've more than competed, thats probably one of their hardest games, I don't think that they will have a harder than that this season and we showed everybody that we can compete, little Rotherham against the big boys when we put our mind to it!"
