"2 - nil at half time makes it really difficult, but they havent had to work to hard to get the goals, so I'm dissapointed with that, but I have to say that the commitment and effort after a very difficult week was there, which is a pleasing thing and you have to think if we keep that we have a chance."
"Poor decisions meant that the ball ended up in our net and you have to stop that, but we havent all season and thats why we are where we are. We made some cahnces and competed but we just have to be better at both ends and turn the chances into goals."
Knill explained Paul McLarens absence from the squad, "His wife had a baby girl this morning and thats why he;s not here. He wanted to come but he had had 24 hours in a hospital so we decided against it."
Looking back on the bad news from Thursday, Alan gave his views. "We're professional people and we get paid to do a job. We st the players down and said come on lets give this a go! Obviously the announcement is dissapointing to the players, staff and everybody at the football club, but you dont have a choice so you get on with things."
"Its fantastic, the fans called me over at the end, first of all its fantastic that they make the trek all the way to Southend then they call me over and give me a bucketful of money. It's heartwarming that they can do that sort of thing! It's great that the other clubs are helping, but I think quite a few know it could be them, especially in our leagues so I think they know the situation."
