My Name's Paul Brown and have supported Orient for many years, but only the last 5/6 as a regular home and away supporter
What made you support your club?
My Local team; became a Vice President 4 years ago and Chairman of the Vice Presidents last year
Whats your favorite away ground and why?
Have done approx 25 of current league grounds and to date it would be Oxford. Good facilities plus gave us a whole stand to us last season and we sung them to death. Best atmosphere has been at Barnet which has the worst ground I've been to facilities wise
Seems ages since we last played you, has your ground changed much??
Massively! South stand was built in 1999 and is a great facility with good size bar beneath it together with the poker den as seen on Friday nights on challenge TV. The West Stand opened last year and it has some excellent facilities for a club of our size, even if it is not pleasing to the eye from the pitch!
Whats your proudest moment being a Orient fan?
It it a toss up between beating Fulham in last seasons FA Cup as we played them off the park in all areas and the last game of the season versus Oxford when we secured promotion
And your most embarassing / disappointing?
Embarassing… Losing 1-0 at home to Chester last year when we had in excess of thirty shots! Disappointing, losing two play off finals has to be high up there, and also getting pipped by Charlton in last years FA Cup 4 th round in the 94 th minute really hurt
So who is your main rival?
Scumend… u know the one's with that Pikey striker
If Leyton Orient was a Song, what would it be, and why?
Right now me thinks I can't Get No Satisfaction! But being positive I'd say Homegrown by Dodgy as a tribute to our excellent youth system
Whats the one thing you would change about your club?
The Board… the Chairman has too much control, but then he will whilst he covers the loss, need an a voice on there that is a true fan, hopefully new CEO Matt Porter can be that man
Any famous fans?
Julian Lloyd Webber, Bob Mills, Barry Hearn, Steve Davis
Whos your all time favorite player, and why?
I'd have to say Matty Lockwood who's still in the team today. He will sometime next season break the all time O's appearances record and last year stuck himself at the top of the clubs all time penalty scorers. He's a hard working left back that could have gone much higher bar a serious injury a few years back (removal of spleen). I'm too young (just) to remember the exploits of Kitchen, Cunningham and co!
Favourite current player in your squad?
There are many that have plus points and Locky stands out for what was said above, right now though it is a youth team graduate in Brian Saah who has the look of a very solid centre half
Thoughts on the gaffer?
He is now one of the most qualified managers in the Country. Last year he proved (together with his support of Dean Smith and Andy Scott) that they have the skill and knowledge to do the business. However, the ambitions of the club must be in question when funds have been flooding into the club and have not been leaving on new players. I cannot blame the gaffer for this as it is the Chairman that controls the purse strings and given current poor performances in all areas I cannot see that the gaffer would not have strengthened the squad. Given the right support from the boardroom he is an excellent young manager that will go far in the game, alas I fear he will not get it here!
Realistic hopes for the season?
Survival! We are conceding 3 goals on average away and not much better at home. If we are in league one next year I think all O's fans would see that as a great result
So after promotion last season, did Martin Ling get money to improve?
Money was supposed to be on the table, and for us a lot of money. Nothing decent in and at no cost suggests the cash was not available to Lingy, as I cannot believe he would not have secured the services of a couple of players that have gone elsewhere for less than 150K
Who's your strongest / Weakest link?
Weakest is whoever plays in goal… Morris is like a rabbit in headlights and Garner does not command his area, punches poorly, and the kicking is not much better! Strongest has to be our amazing fans that travel the length and breadth of the country! Same faces week in week out who's enthusiasm for the club they love never diminishes, I just wish the guys that go away could all sit together at home
Preditcted line up and score for the game on Saturday?
Garner
Lockwood, Saah, Tann, Miller
Keith, Simpson, McMahon, Corden
Alexander, Connor
Score 3-1… Alexander first goal, plus goals from Connor and McMahon!
