This gave a young and energetic Preston side impetus but Rotherham managed to get to half time level. The Millers have walked away with the league this season and have performed well against pretty much everyone they have faced. This was not a good performance though and despite having a stonewall penalty turned down it was Preston who bossed the second half. It looked as if one more goal would win it and Rotherham had a great chance to snatch one on the counter attack but Burnsy missed an opportunity he normally takes without thinking about it.
From the resulting goal kick Preston played a long ball that was missed by Paul Ell, allowing the Preston striker to race through and score. The Millers' heads dropped and they soon conceded a third as after a fine save by Duds in goal, the ball fell straight to a following up Preston player.
With 15 minutes left Rotherham threw everything forward and eventually had a penalty awarded for a foul on Burnsy, which Jammer stuck away with ease. There was real hope that the boys could push on but a tight defence, along with poor attacking quality and quick Preston forwards saw us concede a fourth and killer goal on the counter attack.

With one league game left the Millers will now concentrate on securing the title and then head back to Leeds hoping to regain the Worldnet title, which they won last July before the team faces a summer overhaul with several key personnel leaving.
