Jammer withdrew from the squad due to work commitments dealing a massive blow to the plans of the management team as the youngest Elliott brother was an integral part of the Worldnet winning team last year playing up front with Steve Burns and scoring two goals along the way and also netting a penalty in the shoot out victory against Lincoln.
The bad news was further compounded when midfielder Adis Kassim infuriated Internet Millers officials by withdrawing from the squad within a week of the tournament for the second year running leaving a hotel bill unpaid. Kassim's future at the club is now in major doubt and has been told that he is no longer welcome at the club's training camp in Herringthorpe. Kassim's track record with Internet Millers is woeful and he has often let them down in the past and is thought to owe the club in excess of £160. Talking about Kassim's withdrawal midfielder Dan Bennett told gathered journalists at a press conference: “I really didn't think Adis would do this again. Deep down I always think he's a good lad but then he does this to us. I hope he realises how much hassle he's putting us through and there are going to be some tired legs next weekend now.”
Club Captain Martin Dent was far more direct with his words as he vented his clear anger: “Is it any co-incidence that Adis is an anagram of Aids?” That comment left journalists stunned and following the news conference, which was broadcast live on Sky Sports News, it is thought up to 100 Aids sufferers rang up the news station saying that despite having one of the most deadliest and unfortunate diseases in the world, they did not deserve to be compared to Adis.
In response to this bad news, ex manager Andy Parker who has played at all three Worldnet tournaments for the club has been drafted in to the squad to add more bulk to it but even still with such a small squad, the chances of regaining the tournament look more and more unlikely.
