"People have been writing us off as relegation certainties this season but I can assure you that, as a manager, I speak for all my players when they say they have a belief that they can stay up," he said.
Blackpool manager Simon Grayson was dismissive of his team's performance, saying: "Of course I am disappointed. The way we played was totally unacceptable.
"The players may as well have not turned up. I am not going to defend them and I cannot see how they can defend themselves."
The Millers stated their intent as early as the second minute when striker Dave Hibbert produced a lovely back header from Michael Keane's cross which Rhys Evans had to leap and clutch from underneath his bar.
Hibbert had another early chance before a real opportunity fell to fellow striker Delroy Facey in the 26th minute.
Former Rotherham defender Shaun Barker was under no real pressure when he produced a horrendous back pass which fell well short of keeper Evans.
Facey intercepted and struck a hard low drive which Evans did superbly to block with his feet.
It reflected Blackpool's lack of ambition that they could not produce a single shot in the whole of the first half. Their only attempt on goal was a weak header from Adrian Forbes.
Their half-time roasting from Grayson did improve matters for the Seasiders and Danny Graham forced two excellent saves from goalkeeper Neil Cutler.
Rotherham's winning goal was a beautifully crafted effort. They broke out of defence and set Facey clear down the right and his cross was steered home by substitute Will Hoskins.
